Temperature Sensor Assembly
Small size for demanding catheter/guide wire applications (see table)
Sensor chip (glass) is mounted on glass fiber assembly and may have glass capillary support (see picture)
Immune to electromagnetic noise (cautery, MRI, RF, etc.)
Sensor assemblies are available with or without a jacket

Temperature Sensor Performance
| RJC System Performance | System Performance specified by ISO 80601-2-56, 2nd Ed. | |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature Sensor Range | 20 to 45°C | 34 to 43°C |
| Accuracy | 34 to 43°C: +/- 0.1°C 20 to 45°C: +/- 0.2°C | +/- 0.3°C |
We tested each of six Model 120 Temperature Sensor Assemblies on a Model 520 Fiber Optic Temperature Measurement Instrument. Each Temperature Sensor Assembly was subjected to temperatures from 20 to 45°C, and the instrument response was plotted as shown.
The attached Figure indicates very good linearity, and uniformity from sensor to sensor. Studies are currently under way to provide additional detailed accuracy and stability data.
| Resolution | 0.01°C | No specification |
|---|---|---|
| Ambient Operating Temperature | 15 to 45°C | No specification |
| Response to step change in liquid temperature | 10 seconds | No specification |
